The focus and scope of this white paper is on the transformation of mobility for older adults in rural areas through technological innovations. The white paper explores the potential for technology research and innovation to transform the rural mobility landscape and, in the process, empower older Americans through meeting their travel needs in an equitable and effective manner.
The Camden Funders Affinity Group serves as a vehicle for funders to connect and share updates about their initiatives throughout the city. We heard from Group members an interest to better understand the current environment that these programs serve and to identify opportunities for future endeavors.
In this first in-person meeting of 2024, please join your fellow Camden Funders to hear from each other about our current work in the city, as well as to gain insight into the upcoming efforts we each intend to engage in. Information gathered at this meeting will be used to inform our next meeting, where we will hear directly from leaders working across the city to advance progress in Camden. Light refreshments will be served.

The Camden Funders Affinity Group serves as a vehicle for funders to connect and share updates about their initiatives throughout the city. At the May 30th gathering (our first of 2024), we heard loud and clear that group members didn't want to wait too long before meeting again.
As such, please join your fellow Camden Funders for another in-person meeting to not only share more about your current work in the city, but also dive deeper into discussing the capacity of Camden-based organizations (both those that you already work with and those that can potentially be funded in the future), and how funders might better support them in building it.
A dedicated a portion of this meeting will refine the goals of the Camden Funders Affinity Group, as well as identifying potential speakers and topics for future meetings.

The effects of COVID-19 continue to be felt all around New Jersey. In order to dig deeper into the impact of the pandemic on certain communities and stay connected during this difficult time, CNJG worked with our affinity group chairs and other members to develop programming that supplemented our COVID-19 Funders Briefing Series and Newark COVID-19 Series. These virtual affinity and interest group meetings were designed for colleagues to update each other on coronavirus response efforts, hear about the greatest needs in their funding area, and share what they have learned. CNJG members can access the recordings of these past meetings to hear what was said.

The Camden Funders Affinity Group serves as a vehicle for funders to connect, learn, and share updates about initiatives throughout the city. To help broaden the voices and perspectives in these conversations, we’re excited to begin dedicating a portion of each to hearing directly from leaders doing important work across Camden.
Join fellow CNJG members and the Camden Funders Affinity Group for a very special in-person and lively discussion with City of Camden Mayor, Victor Carstarphen. Serving the community long before becoming Mayor in 2021, Mayor Carstarphen looks forward to sharing his unique perspective on the tremendous progress taking place citywide, the opportunities that lie ahead, and to learn more about the impactful work you are leading throughout Camden.
In the first half of the meeting Mayor Carstarphen will share his insights on the city’s current priorities and opportunities, followed by a Q&A discussion with the Camden Funders. In the second half of the meeting, we’ll reflect on the mayor’s remarks, share updates on our current initiatives, and identify potential speakers & topics for future meetings. Light refreshments will be served.

CNJG is pleased to re-convene the South Jersey Funders Consortium for a lunch meeting at the Green Olive in Bridgeton. Join your fellow South Jersey funders for lunch and a round-robin discussion on what your organization is funding and any new initiatives you are introducing.
Any funder located in or funding in the eight southern counties of New Jersey is welcome to attend (Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland, Cape May, Atlantic, and Ocean). Although Camden city is located in South Jersey, and because we already have a Camden funders affinity group, the topics of discussion of the South Jersey Funders Consortium should focus on south Jersey, outside of the city of Camden.
Cost: $35 for CNJG Members; $75 for Non Member Grantmakers
This program is open to all funders.
Please note: As there is no sponsor for this lunch, we are charging a small registration fee to cover the costs of lunch. This way, at the restaurant, we will only need one check, and be considerate for our server(s).
We have a sponsor for the first meeting of 2026, and CNJG would welcome more sponsors for additional meetings of this group next year.

At our 2025 Annual Meeting on June 12th, our members gathered to award $191,000 to six organizations that serve our region. The grand total our members have awarded to 27 local organizations since 2018 is now $1,411,360. We thank everyone who attended or supported our collective giving circle in any number of ways throughout the year!

As we transition to autumn, this is the time of year when we seek nominations for the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers’ Board of Trustees. If you are interested in serving on the CNJG Board of Trustees, or know someone who would make a good trustee, we encourage you to complete the application form and send it, along with a brief biography, to Board Liaison and Office Manager, Dana Schwartz by Friday, September 12, 2025.
The ideal candidate for trustee has actively participated on a CNJG committee or task group, or served as co-chair of a Council affinity group, or helped plan a CNJG program or served as a speaker at a CNJG program, or attended Foundations on the Hills, or engaged in another activity that supports the Council. If that sounds like you or another colleague member, please consider completing the application.
The Governance Committee will review trustee nominations and applicants and submit our recommendations to the CNJG Board of Trustees at the October Trustees’ meeting.
The Board will present a slate of candidates to CNJG members at our Annual Meeting. Please mark your calendar for the CNJG Annual Meeting & Holiday Gathering on Wednesday, December 10, at The Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick. Registration will be opening soon.
In the meantime, we hope to see you at an upcoming CNJG program.
