The New Jersey Council for the Humanities (NJCH) has announced $231,768 in grant funding to 19 organizations across the state.
The awards are split between 9 Incubation Grants and 10 Action Grants and represent 10 counties in New Jersey. Incubation Grants help organizations plan, research, develop, and prototype public humanities projects and events. Action Grants help organizations implement a wide array of humanities-based projects, including public programs, exhibitions, installations, tours and discussion groups.
“Our most recent grantees are bringing under-told stories from throughout the state and world to new audiences,” said Carin Berkowitz, Ph.D., executive director of NJCH. “They demonstrate that understanding our shared history is key to understanding our current world.”

The Devils Youth Foundation announced Thursday that it will award more than $1.1 million in grants to New Jersey community outreach programs for the 2024-25 season.
The grant money is a 24% increase from last year’s class of grants.
According to the foundation, the 2024-25 grant class is a diverse mix of returning and new partners. Foundation officials said they endeavor to foster innovation and collaboration within their grantee network.
Each grant category has been designed to address a pressing need identified through a comprehensive assessment of the New Jersey Devils’ communities, particularly focusing on areas such as Newark, Jersey City, Paterson and other surrounding towns, officials said.

The Westfield Foundation has awarded more than $120,000 in Q4 2024 grants to eight local organizations, reinforcing its mission to support critical community needs through partnerships and forward-thinking initiatives. These grants, focusing on education, social services, arts and economic development, ensure that diverse populations across Westfield and neighboring communities have access to essential programs and resources that foster long-term stability, growth and impact.
“Our Q4 grants reflect the Foundation’s commitment to identifying and investing in meaningful partnerships that support the evolving needs of our community,” said Executive Director Katie Curran Darcy. “With over $420,000 distributed in 2024, we are proud to fund organizations working on the front lines of change and look forward to an even greater impact in 2025.”

As The Westfield Foundation marks its 50th anniversary, it proudly announces a $225,000 grant from the Bertha E. Bogaert Fund to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Union County (BGCUC) to support a new Teen Center at their recently secured and renovated facility in Plainfield.
This grant continues a decade-long partnership between The Westfield Foundation and BGCUC, with total support now exceeding $625,000. The new Teen Center will offer a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment for teens—providing leadership development, gang prevention programming, mental health resources, and career exploration. A new trade education initiative will feature a professional recording studio and media center, designed and built in collaboration with local tradespeople and BGCUC members, to give youth ages 13–18 hands-on experience and workforce readiness skills.
Rising Tide Capital (RTC), a prominent New Jersey-based entrepreneurship training organization, has received a transformative three-year, $1.5 million grant from the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation to catalyze the nonprofit’s programmatic expansion in Trenton and throughout New Jersey. This award, approved by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, will provide $500,000 annually to advance RTC’s impactful entrepreneurship education and workforce development initiatives catering to historically marginalized communities.
The Dodge Foundation’s strategic investment will bolster entrepreneurship education centered on high-opportunity licensed, credentialed, and certified career pathways. It will also provide comprehensive one-on-one technical assistance, resilience coaching, and tailored business support to entrepreneurs. Furthermore, the grant will fund strategic innovation projects that integrate RTC’s established programs with statewide partners, thereby significantly expanding the reach and accessibility of services to underserved communities throughout New Jersey.
