It's Officially Summer

Wednesday, July 1, 2026

It’s officially summer, which means longer days, and hopefully some well-deserved moments to pause and recharge. If you attended our 2026 Spring Colloquium: A Conversation for the Social Sector —Turning Insight into Impact: Philanthropy and Affordability, it was wonderful spending time with you and engaging in such important discussions.

Thank you to the amazing panelists and workshop facilitators, who generously shared their expertise and challenged us to think differently. This  convening wouldn’t have been possible without them, and the generous support and shared commitment of our wonderful sponsors – and so another big thank you to PSEG, The Tepper Foundation, Sixers Youth Foundation, Community Foundation of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Wells Fargo, Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, and PKF O’Connor Davies.

CNJG’s 2026 Summer Joint Policy Forum The momentum doesn’t stop there. I hope you will join us on Thursday, August 6th for our 2026 Joint Summer Policy Forum, hosted in partnership with the New Jersey Center for Nonprofits. This year we’ll focus on the state budget, Census 2030, reparations, and strategies to strengthen the charitable sector. For CNJG members, the cost to attend is $175 with the code found on our websiteThank you to our sponsors for this event – The Provident Bank Foundation, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and The Fund for New Jersey.

The  2026 New Jersey Philanthropy Benefits and Salary Survey is now live. Your participation is vital as we utilize the aggregated data from this survey to generate our highly anticipated 2026 New Jersey Philanthropy Benefits and Salary Summary Report, widely regarded as one of the most effective benchmarking tools for New Jersey philanthropic leaders. We ask that only one person from each organization complete the survey. Submission deadline for the survey is Friday, July 31, 2026.

I want to inform you that Chanika Svetvilas is no longer working with CNJG.  We appreciate the work she contributed during her time with us and wish her all the best in her future endeavors. Please reach out to Craig Weinrich, Senior Director, Member Experience for information regarding programming.

The CNJG office will be closed for Summer Fridays July 10 through September 4. Summer Fridays  supports the team’s well-being and gives us some time to re-energize.

Happy 4th of July and we hope you have a great summer! And thank you for being a valued member of CNJG, and for your continued dedication to our community. Together, we can continue to build a more equitable and thriving New Jersey.

Best,

Theresa Jacks, President and CEO
