Understanding the Work of the New Jersey Reparations Council: Exploring The Nowness of Reparations
In partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice, CNJG invites funders to engage with the New Jersey Reparations Council's recommendations as a practical framework for coordination and action.
The session will begin with an overview of the New Jersey Reparations Council's landmark research and its seminal report, The Nowness of Reparations, followed by a discussion of the policy recommendations and the opportunities they present for philanthropy. More than a traditional educational briefing, this convening is designed to deepen funders' understanding of the recommendations while highlighting the work of grantee partners already advancing aligned efforts.
Participants will explore how philanthropy can support implementation through intentional, collaborative investment, strengthen partnerships across the field, and help advance equitable, community-informed policy solutions in New Jersey.
The program will include opportunities for discussion and engagement among funders, advocates, researchers, and community partners working to advance this important work.
Cost: Free for CNJG Members; $95 for Non Member Grantmakers
This program is only open to staff and trustees from grantmaking organizations.
CNJG sincerely thanks the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for hosting this event.
