As we say farewell to the month of January, the staff of CNJG is investing time and energy in preparing information and orientation sessions for our new and returning volunteer leadership as they take on roles of service for the Council in 2020 and beyond.
In particular, we are welcoming an unprecedented size class of seven members as they join the CNJG Board of Trustees. We thank the Governance Committee for their diligent work to ensure that we checked off all of the boxes with a diversity lens in the nomination process that is becoming the standard in our work.
The New Trustees Orientation meeting will take place in Princeton on February 6 where we have assembled a robust program for learning, information sharing, and networking.
In addition, we will be kicking off Valentine’s Day with a luncheon for our Affinity Co-Chairs providing time to discuss/brainstorm on programs and learning opportunities for 2020. As part of that program, we have invited Patricia Eng, the new President/CEO of the Asian Americans/Pacific Islanders in Philanthropy to serve as keynote speaker on the topic of the importance of collaboration and diversity in our work.
Once again we look forward to highlighting members’ work as we bring our CNJG delegation to Washington DC for the annual Foundations on the Hill in March!
Finally, I am continuing my listening tour by visiting with members, as well as meeting and reconnecting with our community partners throughout the state. I look forward to seeing you.
Have a wonderful February!
Maria Vizcarrondo, President and CEO
