The Jersey 4 Jersey fundraising drive has a lot of big names attached to it: Bruce, Bon Jovi, Whoopi. And another is throwing itself into the mix: PNC.
On Wednesday, The PNC Foundation said it will give $250,000 in grant funding to support the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund as part of the Jersey 4 Jersey drive.
In about three weeks in existence, the nonprofit hosted by the Community Foundation of New Jersey and chaired by First Lady Tammy Murphy has raised nearly $20 million, with sizable contributions from major Garden State companies like PSEG Foundation and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey.
In a statement, Murphy described the donation as an “amazing” way to kick off the fundraising effort.
“The fast-growing resources of the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund and the well-established infrastructure of the Community Foundation of New Jersey are a shining example of how our state comes together to provide essential support to families and communities as quickly as possible,” PNC Regional President for New Jersey Linda Bowden said in a prepared statement.
