Tuesday, June 6, 2017

Alejandra Ceja will begin as the new Executive Director of the Panasonic Foundation on June 12, 2017. Alex brings a rich background of program and policy experience, most recently serving as Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics. She has also been chief of staff to Undersecretary of Education Martha Kanter and senior budget advisor to Congressman George Miller, when he chaired the House Education and Labor Committee.

Alex's educational background includes a BA in political science from Mount St. Mary's College in LA and an MPA from the School of Public Affairs at Baruch College in NYC.

Last year, Alex received a Marshall Memorial Fellowship, administered by the German Marshall Fund, to participate in a cross-Atlantic exchange program for American and European leaders. Read her reflections on this experience.

Larry Leverett retired as Executive Director of Panasonic Foundation at the end of 2016.  Scott Thompson, who has served at Panasonic Foundation's Interim Executive Director since that time, will continue in his long-standing role as the Foundation's Assistant Executive Director.
