Nicholson Foundation Op-Ed Featured in Star-Ledger

Thursday, January 25, 2018

In an Op-Ed published in The Star-Ledger and NJ.com, The Nicholson Foundation’s Executive Director Arturo Brito and the Turrell Fund’s President and CEO Curtland Fields explain why investments in early childhood education are critical to New Jersey’s future. The Op-Ed cites recent reports demonstrating shortages in the availability of high-quality child care in New Jersey to call for greater investment in our youngest learners.

The piece also introduces the Right from the Start NJ initiative—a public awareness campaign funded by The Nicholson Foundation and other organizations that is educating the public and New Jersey policy makers about why the early years of a child’s development are so important. The goal of the campaign is to ensure that by 2022, every baby born in New Jersey will have access to safe, high-quality care and education.
