The Trustees of The Fund for New Jersey awarded $730,000 in grants to non-profit organizations at their March 2017 quarterly Board meeting. Grants were awarded to nine organizations in the areas of immigration, affordable housing, and education.
Kiki Jamieson, President of The Fund for New Jersey, stated, “The Fund for New Jersey is particularly proud to stand by immigrant justice advocates working to protect and defend undocumented immigrants and New Jersey’s diverse communities in these tumultuous times. With the third highest percentage of immigrants (22% of New Jersey residents) among states in the U.S. and approximately 500,000 undocumented immigrants, it is critical for New Jersey to stand by its residents. New Jersey benefits from the civic, social, and economic contributions of immigrants. The Fund is proud to support its grantees who advocate on behalf of and in solidarity with New Jersey’s immigrant residents and their families.”
