Fall Programming

Thursday, September 2, 2021

It seems like summer is always gone too quickly. As September begins, our attention turns to fall programming. And while this year is no exception to the dynamic programming we have planned from now until the end of the year, what’s different is that we have 2 outstanding signature events just around the corner!

CNJG is hosting the 2021 Virtual Investment Forum for Foundations and Endowments over 2 weeks on November 9, 10 and 16 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. This very special event was first envisioned by the Council’s Finance and Investment Affinity Group in 2013 to create a space for social sector leaders and senior staff to come together and gain new knowledge about how to effectively manage the organization’s corpus.

The 2021 Investment Forum for Foundations and Endowments will take place on the Whova virtual event platform, and use Zoom video conferencing. This year’s virtual event will feature three plenaries, 11 concurrent sessions and daily networking. Concurrent sessions’ range from Day One’s Portfolio Construction and Management – Investment Basics – always a favorite; to Day Two’s ESG Investing – more important than ever; and Day Three’s Thematic Investment – a new discussion for many investment managers. And because we are virtual this year, we’re looking forward to welcoming a national audience.

Sustainable philanthropy relies on careful and skillful stewardship of the corpus. The Investment Forum is truly a one-of-a-kind event aimed at helping foundation and nonprofit CEOs, executive directors, CFOs, trustees and finance and investment committee members gain direct access to a broad array of experts who can offer strategic insight and practical information on investment management.

Thank you to our sponsors to date for their generous support of this event: JPMorgan Chase – Signature Sponsor, PNC Institutional Asset Management and Glenmede – Host Sponsors, Vanguard and PKF O’Connor Davies – Expert Sponsors, and Peapack Private Wealth Management – Advisor Sponsor. Thank you also to the Investment Forum Planning Committee led by chair William Gibson, The Leavens Foundation. Their guidance has been immeasurable!

Registration is open for the event. Please feel free to share with your nonprofit partners who either have an endowment or are considering starting one. Thank you!

I mentioned 2 signature events in my opening paragraph. The second signature event will be the 2021 CNJG Virtual Annual Meeting and Holiday Gathering in December! I look forward to sharing information about that event soon, but until then, mark your calendars – December 13 is the premeeting workshop, and December 14 is the Annual Meeting complete with keynote presentation!

In the meantime, we actually have a couple more weeks of summer. Enjoy and stay safe.
