Business-Education Partnerships: More than a Good Idea

Michael Bzdak, Executive Director, Corporate Contributions, Johnson & Johnson shares his experience of  business- education partnerships with the Johnson & Johnson Bridge to Employment (BTE) programme.

There is a growing body of evidence that the private sector is helping to fill the academic and skill gaps that hinder our young people from finding meaningful careers.  Business volunteers in communities around the world inspire students to set career goals while they guide young people in building their confidence through mentorship and project-based learning. The business community and the education community need each other now more than ever but the collaboration between schools and businesses is not happening at a necessary scale.
