This meeting is postponed. When it is rescheduled, we will let all registrants know.

Over the course of childhood, one in every three New Jersey children will be exposed to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), traumatic incidents that can create toxic stress and have devastating effects on children’s health and learning. If not acknowledged and treated, ACEs can have a long-term impact on all of us – in our workplaces, in our families, and in our communities.

Healing, preventing, and protecting against ACEs in New Jersey requires collaboration, which is why the Burke Foundation, The Nicholson Foundation, and the Turrell Fund formed the New Jersey Funders ACEs Collaborative (the Collaborative) and seeded $2 million for initiatives that will support the state’s most vulnerable children and families in preventing and healing from ACEs. The Collaborative is looking to stimulate further coordination of ACEs initiatives and foster lasting connections among partners that will enhance trauma-informed practices, care and systems statewide.

In January of 2020, the Collaborative hosted two all day workshops which were attended by over 100 cross-sector stakeholders. Participants generated hundreds of ideas and sketched out actionable strategies to inform a statewide ACEs Action Plan. In partnership with the NJ Department of Children and Families, the Collaborative is currently recruiting for an Executive on Loan who will drive the completion and implementation of the first Action Plan to address ACEs developed in NJ.

The Collaborative is looking to broaden their coalition, learn from peers, and strategize on how best to create meaningful, sustainable impact for New Jersey children and families.

Join us to:
• Hear recommendations generated from the statewide ACEs Action Plan
• Learn about coordination efforts between philanthropy and State government to address ACEs in NJ
• Identify opportunities to invest in and support statewide efforts to address ACEs

Networking and coffee begin at 9:30 a.m.

CNJG sincerely thanks The Burke Foundation, Nicholson Foundation, and Turrell Fund of the New Jersey Funders ACES Collaborative for sponsoring this event.
