This webinar series is a CNJG membership benefit for funders in partnership with the United Philanthropy Forum and the Funders’ Committee for Civic Participation, hosted by the Funders Census Initiative (FCI). In this series, national partners will present their findings on the get-out-the-count messaging research to identify messages that resonate with hard-to-count communities.

Historically, the census has missed disproportionate numbers of people of color, young children and the rural and urban poor. Going into 2020, additional communities are at risk of being missed, which may affect the New Jersey communities we care about so much. In the 2010 census, return rates for New Jersey’s cities, such as Camden, Trenton, Newark, and Paterson, were very low. These communities are among those labeled “hard-to-count”, which can lead to inaccurate census data and may mean less investment in their public and private resources. Through this series, foundations will learn more about the organizations that are leading the way to a more accurate census and the vital information needed to serve New Jersey communities.

In the third webinar of the series, Asian Americans Advancing Justice (AAJC) will review their research.

Cost: Free for CNJG Members and Non Member Grantmakers and their field partners

Additional webinars in the series:
September 6th - Color of Change will present their findings.
September 12th - National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) will present their findings.

Members may sign up for one or all of these briefings.
