Education Funders Affinity Group: Pre-School Expansion in NJ: Quantity and Quality Webinar
We know high quality pre-school impacts long term success for young children. Today, New Jersey is challenged to create a bigger preschool system that boasts our historic high quality levels. This fall, 26 NJ districts opened new, state-funded preschool classrooms, serving 2,300 additional kids. To date, philanthropy has played a key role in supporting both expanded access and classroom quality. We see a need to keep our original “Abbott” preschools thriving, ensure newer programs are sustainably funded, and create a single system for quality, while continuing to expand access until every eligible child is served. Where do we stand and what should we do next? Join our speakers: Ellen Frede, Senior Co-Director of Rutgers’ National Institute for Early Education Research, Cynthia Rice, Senior Policy Analyst at Advocates for Children of New Jersey and Barbara Reisman, Senior Advisor of The Maher Family Foundation, and your fellow education funders in New Jersey for this timely and important webinar.
