This in-depth workshop will cover crucial due diligence practices for foundations. The workshop, created for all types of grantmakers, including foundation program staff, trustees, and corporate giving managers, will provide the necessary tools and knowledge to be able to interpret your grantees financial data. We’ll hear from Rich Ribeiro, Vice President and CFO of Turrell Fund. We’ll also be joined by Christopher D. Petermann, Partner at PFK O’Conner Davies who has over 30 years of specialized experience in accounting for tax-exempt organizations and private foundations.
Topics will include:
- Analysis of IRS Form 990 and trends in Audit reports
- Importance of Financial Statement Notes
- Key indicators of long-term financial health and red flags to look out for
- Effective Governance and Board Involvement for grantees
All grantmakers need to understand how to interpret grantee’s financial data in the most effective way possible in order to perform organizational assessments and due diligence practices. Yet, this information can be complex and difficult to interpret. This workshop will make it clear what is important for grantmakers to look for, how to analyze the data, and what this all means for the long-term sustainability of the organization.
