National and international trips to view development work first hand can have a major impact on a family’s giving. “In-the-Field” experiences provide families the opportunity to learn about the work of current and prospective grantees and understand the cultural, economic and political factors that impact the success of a program. On this teleconference, you will learn the ins and outs of organizing such trips, including how to select a destination, deciding whether to work with a trip organizer, and finding service opportunities for family members of all ages. The speakers will be Bruce Karmazin, Executive Director of the Lumpkin Family Foundation, who traveled to Uganda last summer with his 15 year old son, and Maryann Fernandez, Founder and President of Philanthropy Indaba, a family consultant with experience planning global trips.
Cost: Free for CNJG members
Note: This teleconference is for CNJG members only.
This teleconference is presented with the National Center for Family Philanthropy. Dial-in information and supporting materials will be e-mailed to participants 24-48 hours in advance of the call.
