The State of New Jersey is in a dire situation and the 2011 budget is expected to have devastating cuts that will mean severe consequences for the social sector. Governor-elect Christie will present his proposed budget in March. To ensure that New Jersey grantmakers can continue to understand the ramifications and have the greatest impact possible, CNJG will host a conversation for funders to discuss what the budget crisis means for the nonprofit community and how funders might work together to address what is ahead.
And, if you have not already done so, don't forget to register for Understanding the State Budget and How Governors Approach It scheduled for Thursday, February 22. This workshop will provide an introduction to New Jersey's State budget and a basic understanding of how it comes together.
Cost: Free for members and nonmembers
CNJG sincerely thanks The Schumann Fund for New Jersey and the Victoria Foundation for hosting this event.
